Assess with NeuroGuide, then train with Z-scores (4/6-channel LZT or 19 Channel RZT)

Instructor: John N. Demos, LCMHC, BCIA-EEG

Overview

Getting Started with NeuroGuide & Z-score training is a hands-on workshop.  All participants will learn how to mount and record EEG; process with NeuroGuide; then train with Z-scores methods.

“Getting Started with QEEG, NeuroGuide and Live Z-Score Training”  enables practitioners with some experience to master the most powerful new tool in the NFB armamentarium, QEEG assessment-combined with Live Z-Score training or “LZT” This safe yet effective training and live monitoring technology is particularly powerful with clinically challenging “disorders of connectivity” like the autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, traumatic head injury, and certain treatment refractory presentations of depression and complex PTSD. NeuroGuide software and database is not only FDA registered (lending instant credibility in the medical community), it is a leader in forensic QEEG. (BrainMaster's MiniQ II may also be used during workshop).

Greatly expand your clinical scope and effectiveness with this unique training featuring FDA-registered hardware and software, grounded in a scientifically sound practice model.

 Learning Objectives:

Three Day “Getting Started with QEEG, NeuroGuide and Live Z-Score Training”
  • Learn how to expertly mount QEEG caps and collect clean data
  • Learn how to detect and remove artifact
  • Learn to use and interpret NeuroGuide with HAT
  • Learn how to get started with LZT; indications, contraindications, global vs. local training strategies, the role of assessment, future refinements and trends
  • Case studies will demonstrate how brain maps reflect common disorders such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, head injury (mTBI), autistic spectrum disorders and seizures. The clinical power of multivariate z-score training for coherence and amplitude problems will be described and differentiated.
  • Take 3 days and learn assessment and (easy) Z-score training applications

(3-Days) Getting Started with QEEG, NeuroGuide & Live Z-score Training:

Day One:

Tuesday (9am-6pm) November 3rd

Package #2 will provide clinicians with NeuroGuide brain maps plus Z-score training. Your Cost; $7,545.45 (Workshop $750 discounted to $225.00)...not much more than what one might normally spend on a NFB system with little or no assessment capabilities!  Obviously, this is even more attractive to those clinicians who already own parts of this package. Package #2 is a fully integrated assessment AND training solution that will allow practitioners to take on clients they would normally have to pass on or do a less than satisfactory job with. Another advantage is that the Demos DCN-128 report software is a powerful tool for treatment planning, AND it is an effective "sales tool" with clients, both current and prospective, who can easily see the nature and extent of their problems as reflected by the EEG, and track progress across the treatment sessions. As a clinical vs. research-based report, it has a much easier and rapid learning curve than the NeuroGuide. This package would entitle the purchaser to a 65% discount off the cost of the three day training.

Remember, not all "Mini-Q" systems are created equally. With the Mini-QII-NeuroGuide for BrainMaster system, you can get full homologous site (interhemispheric) data on coherence/phase pairings. You can also get some key intrahemispheric (ipsilateral) data needed for autism and LDs. Front to back/intrahemispheric coherence is invaluable clinical information....our four-channel based entry level system makes it affordable and provides you with a very quick learning curve.

Neurofeedback for Epilepsy Seizure Control Improves With Neurofeedback Training

E-mail Print PDF

by Zoe Langly, February 8, 2008

Neurofeedback is a type of behavior training called operant conditioning. This sophisticated form of brainwave monitoring and feedback trains the brain and nervous system to operate more normally. It's been used to treat epilepsy and other disorders for over thirty years.

How It Works

During training, electrodes are placed on the scalp and on the ear lobes. Brainwave activity is monitored like a regular EEG, but with a major difference. The EEG is normally fed into a computer and printed out on paper in the form of wiggly lines representing brain waves.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Playing a video game called ‘Space Race’ that requires nothing more than brainpower to make rockets on a computer screen move forward is more than just fun and games. A University of Missouri researcher is using video games to see if the brainwaves of children with autism can be ‘retrained’ to improve focus and concentration.

Medical Research News

Research on autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) shows that neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) can remediate anomalies in brain activation, leading to symptom reduction and functional improvement.

This evidence raises the hopes for a behavioral, psychophysiological intervention moderating the severity of ASD. The research is reviewed in a new article published in the latest issue of Biofeedback.

Healtheir Talk.com:Stop Migraines - Neurofeedback Technique Aids Headaches

Sydney got migraines. Serious migraines. Every day. Sometimes she would get a migraine shortly after getting up and it would last until she went to bed that night. You may know what that's like. The one-sided throbbing or high-pressure pain that saps all your energy, makes it difficult or even impossible to keep going with daily activities, and lasts for hours or even days. The real Sydney (she's not really named Sydney - I'm protecting her privacy) worked with me using a neurofeedback technique called passive infrared hemoencephalography or pirHEG, for short.
